Paris summer festivals and events this year have something for everyone, from fireworks and funfairs to street parties and dancing, and it's all here waiting for you from the ideal base at Les Plumes Hotel.

Paris summer celebrations for your enjoyment

In Paris summer is a time to get out on the streets and enjoy the sunshine - and the parties. Nothing beats the extraordinary experience of being in the city on Bastille Day, July 14, our National Day, when there's everything from a magnificent march down the Champs-Elysees to street parties and fireworks over the Seine.

It's something every traveller has to experience at least once in their lives. Paris summer at its very best.

Throughout July and August, in the gorgeous Tuileries Gardens, there's a huge family funfair with attractions for all, from rides to freshly-made waffles to enjoy. It's a famous long-standing tradition in one of the most beautiful parts of our city.

The Summer Quarter festival, from the middle of July until early August, is a must for anyone with an interest in culture. There are open-air performances throughout Paris from around the world. This year's programme includes a free concert by a South African orchestra in the Place de la Republique. There's experimental work from South Korea and singers from Tibet, among many others.

And, every evening, in the Tino Rossi Gardens, near the great piece of contemporary architecture that is the Arab World Institute, large groups of dancers gather for spontaneous performances. Enjoy a glass of wine as you watch in the evening sun.

Les Plumes Hotel is your home for the Paris summer
