Along the way will be Cartier, Hermes, Chanel and many more leading and traditional watch brands displaying their latest creations for the luxurious and exclusive watches marketplace. This is one of Europe’s largest and finest prestige trade shows devoted to the watchmaker’s art and takes place just over a mile from Les Plumes Hotel.
Prestigious watches in Paris 2013 for enthusiasts, collectors and the curious
The 7th annual Salon Belles Montres is where lovers of fine watches can come to admire, explore, discover and try the models on offer. However, it’s also a fascinating event for those who are simply curious about the world of fine watches and would like to know more. The timepieces are not for sale at the show, thereby alleviating commercial pressure and allowing the visitor to browse in peace and at leisure. It’s an ideal opportunity to get a close look at some of the world’s most prestigious timepieces.
Mini-conferences are scheduled which are attended by watchmakers, creators and the managers of leading watch houses. There is a speciality bookshop and exclusive events and presentations for horology enthusiasts. Perhaps the most fascinating and challenging is a three hour watch initiation workshop hosted by the Foundation of Haute Horologerie, in which you are invited to dismantle and rebuild a simple mechanical movement. This is a great chance to don the traditional magnifying loupe and see if you have the skill, sharp eye and steady hand required to perform the watchmaker’s art.
