The right terrace for any event

The long-awaited return of summer heralds the opening of those famous Parisian terraces – and some great exhibitions. Try trendy rooftops for a welcome respite from the bustle of the streets or visit some of the most stylish summer events. Les Plumes Hotel is delighted to suggest some of our favourites to enhance your summer stay in Paris.

The Docks – stylish and on-trend

The City of Fashion and Design, better known as "les Docks" opened in the spring of 2012. As a setting for an eclectic range of events and known for its innovative architectural design, it's the place to be for fashion lovers and trendsetters. Discover contemporary works, visit show-rooms and temporary exhibitions or see a variety of artistic performances in this outstanding building designed by Kakob + Macfarlane. Resolutely contemporary and completely in tune with urban culture, the City of Fashion and Design also has two restaurants that offer unique panoramic views over the River Seine and all of Paris. The 600m2 rooftop is the largest in the capital and most of the ephemeral exhibitions take place in this part of the building.

The panoramic rooftops in Paris

Ultra-trendy and modern, the rooftop offers a breath-taking view of the capital's monuments. Rooftops are very popular in cities such as New York and Berlin and in Paris, these unusual high-rise venues are known for their spectacular views over the entire capital as much as for their effervescent atmospheres.  The many Parisian roof terraces are popular with artists and modern art fans. Escape, inspiration and relaxation are on the agenda and many events are planned over the summer. Go along to the trendy parties at Wanderlust, Café Oz, the Mama Shelter and the Perchoir de Ménilmontant – you're guaranteed a memorable evening. The ideal place for an exotic cocktail, and a must for hot, summer evenings, the rooftop trend is here to stay.
