After Montreal, San Francisco, Rotterdam, Stockholm, New York and Melbourne, the exhibition devoted to the famous fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier has moved to the Grand Palais in Paris, where it will remain until August 3rd. This prestigious destination is just fifteen minutes by Metro from the Hotel Les Plumes. Therefore, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

Everything about Jean Paul Gaultier

The exhibition, produced by the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal in collaboration with the Réunion des MuséesNationaux and the Maison Jean Paul Gaultier de Paris, traces the career of the couturier from 1970 to 2013. From the sketch collection we learn about the various stages of his creative process before contemplating the astonishing and innovative costumes he designed to be worn onstage for concerts, fashion shows, dance shows and movies. Original pieces are also presented, some displayed on animated dummies, and some demonstrated by the Montreal UBU theatre company. Corseted lingerie, mermaids and sailors, "punk cancan", electronic jewellery; the many facets of the work of Jean-Paul Gaultier are here presented to the public. It’s a real tribute to one that many do not hesitate to describe as an "icon of pop culture". This is a great opportunity to get a close look at the world of a creator who is indisputably unique.
