Magical Christmas markets in Paris

Categories : Flavors and Gastronomy, Fashion and Shopping, Visit Paris, published on : 11/5/18

Christmas makes you want to take care of yourself and your family, to find simple pleasures or share moments where everyone is happy in a magical atmosphere. There's nothing quite like walking around the aisles of the Parisian Christmas markets!

Unique Christmas markets

Christmas markets open all over Paris, and each has its own distinct atmosphere and personality. Whether you choose just one or take pleasure in discovering them all, there are some we recommend. For their magical settings and traditional atmospheres, we couldn't exclude the Notre-Dame de Paris market or the Abbesses market in the heart of Montmartre. Browse a wide range of crafts goods and local or traditional gastronomic products as you wander along warming your hands on a cone of roasted chestnuts or a glass of mulled wine.

A touch of originality

Explore another dimension to the Christmas markets with, for example, the Christmas Village discovery trail at La Défense. 10,000 m² of exhibition space filled with 350 exhibitors is a delight for the senses at this massive Christmas market. The Champs de Mars market at the foot of the Eiffel Tower invites you to get your skates on for a whirl around its temporary ice rink. Or, wander off the beaten track and visit the Alsatian market at  Gare de l'Est. It’s the epitome of the traditional Christmas market. Alternatively, ask us for information about Japanese, Swedish, vegan, Italian or Norwegian events – there are dozens of original Christmas markets to be found in Paris!

A visit to a Christmas market is an essential part of the Parisian festive season. Since we're located in one of the capital's most vibrant districts, it's easy to organise outings to traditional, seasonal or gourmet markets from Les Plumes Hotel.
